Management wants up to upgrade our workforce management software
Workforce management software is now an essential tool in managing modern businesses. Whether the organization is operating in diversified areas or miniature geographical locations, they all find it essential to implement the workforce time and attendance software. These programs make our job easy by doing many things automatically; for instance, they manage the work flow by assigning tasks to employees and then monitoring the progress of these tasks. They also help in saving time and money by keeping tabs on several aspects of business, such as employee performance, attendance and other information. They can also calculate important figures routinely when the data is entered. This way you can have complete control over your commercial activities and provide the best of the services and products.
However, for the past few months, the management has been after me to have the time and attendance software upgraded. Well, there have been a few problems lately; I think that the server cannot take the increasing database anymore. There have been some complaints that there is a problem downloading the reports from the main database, and often the computers hang while doing this. Also, many a time’s exchanging data over the intranet has failed. This tends to be a problem, as we are trying to completely cut down on the use of paper in order to increase the company’s savings. Nevertheless, the problem eating me most is buddy punching. We have the swipe card machines, and lately I have noticed people signing in for their friends a lot. Whenever I confront them, no wonder they deny it. They always have excuses about being in the department or me not seeing them at the moment. Therefore, I am seriously considering getting a biometric time and attendance system now.
Besides, the time tracking software we are currently using is getting rusty. I haven’t had it updated for quite a while now, and it is missing out on all the latest features. For instance, it cannot schedule the tasks for the employees; it will just keep track of the progress after the work has been lined up. Moreover, the interface of the employee attendance tracking is also a bit complicated. The administration and I have been using it for more than a year now and still get stuck in some places. This makes the job time consuming.
The human resources department also insists that now we should get a time and attendance program that can tell the exact location of the employees; one with a GPS system that can be installed on all smart phones. They have caught a number of employees skipping meetings and going for drinks, on the company credit card.
Now, I want an employee attendance tracking software that cannot be diced, is easy to use plus affordable to buy and maintain. My HR head has already taken the liberty of downloading a few trial versions of the scheduling software
from the internet and then decided which one to purchase.
